Most recently, our Myrtle Beach area golf courses at Sea Trail in Sunset Beach, NC were named by Golf Digest 2006 as North Carolina's "Top 100 Courses". Our fabled courses each offer a personality of their own, and in 2005 were named "Top 50 Courses" in Myrtle Beach and were recently named by Golfweek 2005 as "America's Best Course of Distinction". Dan Maples Course
Golf Digest declared the Dan Maples Signature Course as one of the "Best New Resort Courses" in the nation in 1986. NC Magazine rated the Maples course in the top 5 of the coastal region's "Best Conditioned Courses". Golf Digest rated it 4 stars; and, Golfweek honored the Maples course with "Best Resort Course of Distinction" in 2005.

Twisted ancient oaks and tall Carolina pines define each hole on the beautiful par-72 course, still regarded as one of Maples' finest.

Five holes wind along the scenic Calabash Creek, home to nesting pairs of osprey. A medium-length, accuracy-demanding course, the Maples is unique in its use of waste bunkers; with the waste bunker on #15 extending the full length of the fairway, making it a challenge for even the experienced golfer. Adding to the challenge is the use of attributes of the land and water in this natural setting, causing the golfer to ponder both the layout and the beauty of the course. But be advised...the Maples course is no "walk in the park"!

Rees Jones Course
The Rees Jones Course, which opened in the spring of 1990, is a perennial favorite of both visitors and locals. Designer-approved renovations to the course in 1999 brought a more naturalized look with native grasses and wildflower plantings. A testament to Sea Trail's trio of course, like the Maples course, Golf Digest also rated the Jones course 4 stars and Golfweek recognized it with "Best Resort Course of Distinction" in 2005.

A straightforward course with typical Jones mounding along the fairways and around elevated greens, the course is noted for its wide fairways, large mounds, pot and large expanse bunkers that provide an extraordinary golf experience. Adding to the challenge is the use of water, which comes into play on 11 holes of this par-72 championship course.

The Jones course is best described as a target course and, as is his fashion, Rees Jones has used all available attributes to guard his greens.

Willard Byrd Course
Each hole of the Willard Byrd Course is memorable for both beauty and exacting play. Built around several man-made lakes, each ranging from 14-20 acres, every hole of this par-72 signature course requires a distinctly different approach to Byrd's undulating greens.

The course follows Byrd's imaginative style of design, incorporating several of his trademark decorative sand and waste bunkers. This combined with a constricting tree line and greenside bunkering system make for a "heads-up" challenge.

The Byrd course was also recognized by Golf week as course with "Best Resort Course of Distinction" in 2005; and, Golf Digest rated it 4 stars, as well.
