Punta Cana Golf Resort Punta Cana, Dominican Republic |
|
In early 2001 world renowned designer P.B. Dye returned to the Dominican Republic at the request of Frank Rainieri, owner of the PUNTACANA RESORT & CLUB. Rainieri and partners, labor mediator Ted Kheel, famed couturier Oscar de la Renta and singer Julio Iglesias wanted Mr. Dye to design a world-class beachfront golf course. The result of P. B. Dye's first solo effort in the Dominican Republic, La Cana Golf Course at PUNTACANA RESORT & CLUB,definitely belongs on your “must play” list. La Cana Golf Course is innovative, challenging, beautiful and fun. It's long playing to 7,152 yards from the tournament tees but the rewards include four superb holes playing directly along the Caribbean Sea and 12 holes with magnificent sea views. The Dye pot bunker is ever present. Hole seven boasts a cluster of 21. Dye jokingly refers to this area as “Hecklebirnie” a type of golfer's purgatory according to Scottish lore. La Cana Golf Course is an exciting Dye-abolical test of golf!

The magnificent La Cana Golf & Beach Club was decorated for our visitors’ delight by Oscar de la Renta. The Club’s high ceilings and comfortable style add to its sophisticated atmosphere. A few steps away you will find a fully equipped Pro Shop with secured lockers for storage. The 19th Hole Terrace offers a fantastic view of the pool at the Clubhouse, with its palm trees offering shadow to those beneath them. The view continues to a white-sand beach, the turquoise blue of our Caribbean Sea and the emerald green of the spectacular 18th Hole.
La Cana Golf & Beach Club offers an unbeatable cuisine. For lunch, the Grill is available with a selection of seafood, pasta, salads and light food in general. For dinner, there is "Cocoloba" specializing in Caribbean food Nouvelle Cuisine style and offering a wide selection of wines from its wine list. |
