El Legado Golf Resort encompasses 285 acres of lush countryside on the southern coast of Puerto Rico. The resort, located in Guayama, Puerto Rico is idyllically situated between the majestic Central Mountain Range and the deep blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. For many years, renowned World Golf Hall of Fame member, Chi Chi Rodriguez, winner of eight PGA Tour Championships and twenty-two Senior Tour victories, had the dream to create a golf paradise in his own country. Designed according to Chi Chi Rodriguez's own vision and inspired by the natural beauty of the surroundings, the course has been created to become a seat of international championships, able to host events such as the prestigious PGA Tour. This tribute to architecture and design spreads across 7,213 yards. Its white sand bunkers are unique in Puerto Rico, as well as Puerto Rico's first "Island Green", favored by golfers for its challenge, beauty and level of difficulty. The different shapes of the terrain and the direction of each hole in relation to the wind were an integral part of the design considerations and are sure to add variety and excitement to every game.
The facilities are complete with an innovative driving range, three practice greens and putting area. With majestic fountains and waterfalls, lakes, creeks and colorful gardens, this golf course will not only provide a challenge to the most ardent golfer but provides the esthetics to please and delight players of all levels. Complementing this first class golf course is the five star clubhouse. After playing the 18th hole golfers will pass under an impressive waterfall that will take them to the clubhouse. Within the complex there is a five star restaurant, a comfortable member's room, a bar serving gourmet dishes and refreshments coupled with a comfortable sitting area. Attached to the clubhouse, a spacious semi-roofed terrace overlooks holes 9, 18, and the tees for holes 1 and 10. The clubhouse also has a room full of Chi Chi's memorabilia, lockers and a well stocked pro-shop. |
